For GRT Delegators: RAMP Indexer Reward Distribution Update

RAMP DEFI’s Indexer Nodes were launched on 7th January 2021, backed by early GRT investors who seeded the initial GRT required to commence node operations.

Creating Reward Liquidity For Delegators

Currently, the Graph reward structure requires Delegators to undelegate their GRT in order to receive their GRT stake and rewards after 28 days.

This means that Delegators are unable to receive their rewards unless they undelegate and redelegate. This creates a “no-reward” zone of 28 days for Delegators who simply wish to retrieve staking rewards. The other alternative is to hold and never claim rewards.

This structure is highly inefficient for Delegators from a yield perspective.

Following dialogue with major stakeholders for the RAMP Indexer Nodes, we have devised a new structure that can give reward liquidity to Delegators staked with RAMP Indexer Nodes.

Reward Liquidity Structure

The current indexing reward fees on the Graph staking portal are set at 50%. Practically, this shall remain unchanged in the Node Operator-Delegator relationship.

To retrieve Delegator rewards without the Delegator unstaking, the indexing reward fees shall be changed to 100%. This allows RAMP as the Node Operator to retrieve the 50% staking rewards on behalf of Delegators.

RAMP shall subsequently send these rewards to Delegators directly. The clearest and most direct benefit for Delegators is that rewards can be claimed on a regular basis without dealing with the 28 days unbonding period.

Change rollout:

• This change shall be rolled out on 15th September 2021.
• This structure is only available to users who stake a minimum of 50,000 GRT. Users with less than the minimum are advised to switch their delegation to another indexer. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
• This change would only affect Delegator GRT rewards from the 15th Sept 2021 and not retrospectively. Retrospective Delegator GRT rewards would still only be accessible as per The Graph’s reward structure.
• No action is required from Delegators on the Graph’s staking portal. Delegators are required to register with RAMP.
